DAAAAAAAAAMN! Tiger Gets Mauled In Settlement

Tiger Woods will pay his soon-to-be ex-wife Elin Nordegren $750 million in a record-setting divorce settlement, U.K. newspaper The Sun reports. Nordegren is expected to file for divorce in the next week.

The terms of the settlement also reportedly grant Nordegren primary custody of the couple's two children, daughter Sam, 3, and son Charlie, 1. Woods also enters into an agreement not to bring any new women into the kids' lives or near them unless he has remarried. 

Besides the kids and the cash, Nordegren purportedly receives the family home in Windermere, Fla. (outside of which Woods crashed his car on Thanksgiving Day, leading to the revelations of his serial infidelity); an apartment in Stockholm; and a new, unfinished estate in Jupiter, Fla.,, all worth multimillions.

In exchange, the 30-year-old Swedish swimsuit model agrees to keep her mouth shut about Woods' numerous extramarital affairs. 

Not only is the settlement thought to be the most expensive in history, but it would wipe out nearly three-quarters of Woods' previously estimated fortune of $1 billion, although the Sun reports that Nordegren's legal team discovered he was worth much more than that to date.

American Apparel Faces Financial Crisis

The company known for their provocative garments and sexed-up ads has been having lackluster sales as of late despite their unique marketing and sexy campaigns. Some may remember just a short while back the company ran a campaign that asked customers to send in the best pics of their bottoms wearing the companies undergarments. Despite these efforts, the company still reports losses over the last few quarters according to MSNBC:

The company, known for its signature T-shirts, sexualized ads and controversial chief executive, recently reported that its quarterly operating loss had more than quadrupled from a year earlier, and warned that it risks defaulting on a credit agreement. The news sent its stock price, already trading in the low single digits, tumbling. The Los Angeles-based company also has warned that it risks having its stock delisted from the Amex because it has repeatedly been tardy with its financial filings.

“American Apparel is unique because they’re on the cusp of a total collapse,” said Howard Davidowitz, chairman of the retail consulting and investment banking firm Davidowitz & Associates.

“Our company in the past has been through these types of issues before and it’s never really presented us with any particular difficulties in running our business,” CEO Dov Charney said in a conference call with analysts last month after the company reported a $17.6 million quarterly operating loss on sales of $121.8 million.

Playboy Suing Drake Over Sample

Apparently the men's magazine empire PLAYBOY isn't too happy with Drake's uncleared sampling of a record owned by the company. It seems that Drake's breakthrough record "Best I Ever Had' samples Hamilton, Joe Frank and Dennison/Reynold's 'Fallin' In Love' which is owned by Hugh Hefner's PLAYBOY.

Aubrey Drake Graham, Cash Money Records and Universal Music Group have been named in the lawsuit. In PLAYBOY's released statement they claim that Drake & his co-defendants “Knew or should have reasonably known, that the sound recording was protected by copyright…” and that “each Defendant continues to infringe upon Plaintiff's rights in and to the copyrighted sound recording.”

It doesn't end there. PLAYBOY says since the blatant copyright infringement has been "continuous" and "ongoing" they want an injuction to cease and desist any further sales and distribution of the record plus a portion of all profits already accrued by the record. Nicolas George Hayek passed away today at age 82 while at work in the Swatch Group’s Biel headquarter. The cause was heart failure. The company will be under the watch of another Hayek, his son also by the name Nicolas, who is the current CEO. The splash page on the Swatch Group’s website simply read “Nicolas G. Pharrell Williams is credited as a music producer and co-creator of the official music score for the upcoming animated Summer film Despicable Me.
