Here’s a closer look at the newly opened Levi’s Workshop San Francisco that doubles as a retail store front and community event space. This is the first location for the workshop and it will last only eight weeks. Each workshop will focuses on a specific craft and this one in the Mission District focuses on printmaking. The general public can come by and use the letterpress, silkscreen, and photocopy equipment to make their own print-based creations.
Part of the festivities, Levi’s invited local pioneers like Craig Newmark and Aaron Rose to work on their own print collaborations. Craig Newmark is the founder of Craiglist and Aaron Rose who is responsible for the book, “Beautiful Losers: Contemporary Art and Street Culture.” Go check it out at 580 Valencia St. @ 17th!
