Yahoo today launched Yahoo Mail and Messenger apps for Android, as well as Yahoo Search Widget for Android. It also created new, faster HTML5-based Yahoo Mail and News sites for iPhone and iPod touch.
Yahoo Mail features push notification for new e-mail messages, search by sender, recipient, subject and keywords, support for emoticons and spam management. Users can send e-mails to contacts from both the Yahoo Address Book and the native phone address book, attach photos to e-mails directly from the phone’s camera or the photo gallery, as well as view and download attachments.
The Messenger app is available globally, just like Yahoo Mail, and it lets users stay connected with the app working in the background, receive push notifications when new messages and friend requests arrive, use emoticons, and send photos to friends directly from the phone’s camera or the photo gallery.
