With the success of social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook, it’s Twitter that provides fans with the biggest opportunity to directly communicate with their favorite celebrity. The latest beneficiary of this type of interaction is a Kevin Durant fan by the name of Brandon.
After Brandon was unsuccessful in being able to locate Durant at the Nike store, he and his cousin decided to check elsewhere. While making that trip, Brandon saw a 6-foot-9 figure walking his way. He identified the subject as Kevin Durant, and went to greet the superstar forward.
The spontaneous meet-and-greet resulted in Brandon taking home a signed basetball and a pair of the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse in the USAB colorway. Brandon says KD and friends stayed at the store with him for 30 minutes helping him find the right pair of shoes. He also describes Durant as “one of the most down to earth, fan friendly athletes out there.” We here at Sole Collector agree with that assessment.
If you’re looking to connect with an athlete who is fun, entertaining, humble and generous, you may want to check out Kevin Durant on Facebook and Twitter. Congratulations to Brandon on his experience.
